September 2026
hey Reader,
as always, I pray these updates encourage, inspire, and challenge you as we help college students find and follow Jesus.
Also, I'm announcing something really big at the bottom of this newsletter! So read on brave soul!
We hit welcome week running. Thanks to First Christian CB we were able to connect with Christian students who were checking out local churches in the first few weekends. We also connected with several Christian coaches who attend. We also gave away Justin Raulston's new book "Don't Just Survive." If you know a college student who is on campus this is a fantastic gift.
On campus, I've worked hard to connect with both coaches and students. The follow-up has paid off because I've been able to speak every week for the Football team and I'm gaining audiences with athletes across campus. We're also working to launch a coaches huddle to serve Christian coaches at IWCC.
Our second week of school we launched CSF Weekly. This is a weekly Bible study that we host on campus and it has absolutely taken off! We’ve outgrown our room twice and have some excellent momentum because God has raised up some students who are owning reaching and discipling on this campus!
35 students studying the Bible! Thanks to the football coach for letting us use their meeting room on campus!
UNO welcome week is offset from IWCC by one week. So as soon as I finished IWCC's marathon, I started another one. This time with residents! We braved bad parking, walked a ton in the heat, and had a really solid kick off.
This semester we've focused on two words. Prayer & Presence. The philosophy is all about asking God to move and then putting ourselves in a place to see it happen and partner with God in it. Due to my role at IWCC, I find that much of what I do is pray and ensure that the team is present!
My main responsibility outside of the team is Alpha! Every Sunday 6:30pm we create a series dinner conversations for students who are curious about faith. Kingsway Christian Church graciously hosts us and provides meals for the students. We have had a strong turnout of 5 students all leaning in to great conversations about faith! beyond that we've been connecting really well with new students who we hope to introduce into this environment!
~~at home:
Outside of work, Courtney and I have been incredibly busy. Just in August, I had a work retreat, had my family in town, got really sick (like- fevered for days), and then welcome week'd and boom! It was September.
Gratefully, my family was able to watch my daughter so Courtney and I could keep settling into our home. Decor is up, cardboard boxes are out, and we're beginning to work on some of the projects that will maximize the usable space in the house. We're very excited for that.
I also snuck out to Iowa City to visit my friend Alex!

for you and your prayers.
thank you:
for your prayers. - As iwcc_csf experiences rapid growth I really have come to appreciate how much of this is God being faithful to answering prayers. Thank you for continuing to contend for students to be reach with the gospel!
for your gifts. - I cannot do this without you! Every dollar you give helps support this work. I'm beyond grateful for your generosity.
pray for
students - I'm trying to calcify a core of student leaders in the next few weeks! Huge prayer request here!

Pause
A mainstay of my morning prayer ritual. It's free, easy, and helps me focus. What tools or methods have you been using lately to make space for Jesus?
A freebie at a little lending library. I've never read Maxwell (which is a shock considering my MA is in leadership!) and I've really enjoyed it so far. One question that's been challenging is this; "How have you been investing in your leadership lately?"
